‘Ride For Awareness’ event promotes education, provides support for those impacted by breast cancer

SALISBURY, Md. – Women Supporting Women’s 18th annual Ride for Awareness event returned Saturday morning.

The ride started in Salisbury at the non-profit’s headquarters where motorcyclists got the chance to win prizes by entering a raffle.

For nearly 30 years, Women Supporting Women has been providing support and education to individuals and local families impacted by breast cancer and their services are completely free.

We caught up with organizers before the wheels got to rolling who tell us they’re thankful for the overwhelming community support. “Some of them are survivors. Some of their wives or sisters have been through that we’ve been there for before. So to bring everybody together and come out and ride and just have a enjoyable ride through Worcester and Wicomico County,” Women Supporting Women Event Coordinator Andie Hess said.

Organizers tell us their message of spreading awareness is even more important now as the pandemic impacted regular screenings which are key for early detection.

100% of event proceeds will go to support the non-profit.
