One killed, another injured in Millsboro crash

MILLSBORO, Del. – An investigation is underway after a crash that killed one and injured another Wednesday afternoon in Millsboro.

At around 3:15 p.m., police say a white 2019 Kia Optima was traveling eastbound on Mount Joy Road, approaching a moderate left curve, east of Cannon Road. For unknown reasons, the driver reportedly failed to negotiate the curve and veered off the south edge of Mount Joy Road, continuing eastbound until it hit a utility pole off the roadway. The passenger of the vehicle sustained extensive thermal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was turned over to the Office of the Medical Examiner for identification confirmation.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
