Leaders with Defend SWLA campaign spreading awareness in Rehoboth Beach

47ABC – A Louisiana Coalition traveled over thousands of miles to Rehoboth Beach, in hopes of bringing awareness and taking a stand against toxic gas terminals on the gulf coast.

The coalition says these gas terminals are being built right in Southwest Louisiana on the coast. James Hiatt with Defend Southwest Louisiana tells us these types of gas are driving up the cost of electricity and the developments are allegedly Destroying the Coast making the community even more vulnerable to hurricanes and flooding.

That’s why the coalition took a trip to Rehoboth to put pressure on the Biden administration to do something about it as well as push to move away from fossil fuel dependency.

Coalition members will be in Rehoboth Beach until Labor Day to continue gathering signatures for the petition to send to President Biden.
