Investigators working to determine cause of vacant house fire in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Maryland fire marshals are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a vacant Cambridge house early Tuesday morning.

The blaze was reported at around 4:10 a.m. at a house in the 1100 block of Race Street. A total of 45 firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire, which took an hour to control.

The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office is asking for the public’s help in determining what caused the fire. Anyone that may have seen anything or been in the area is urged to contact Deputy State Fire Marshals at 410-713-3780.
