DOVER, Del. – Four people have been charged in connection with a shooting that took place in the Dover area Wednesday afternoon.

At around 2:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of White Oak Road and Stevenson Drive for a report of multiple shots fired at a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene to discover that two homes were hit by gunfire, as well as an occupied vehicle that was located on East Wind Drive after fleeing the area.

Surveillance footage showed a black Hyundai with New Jersey tags turn onto Stevenson Drive from the east, at which point the backseat passenger got out of the vehicle and fired multiple rounds at another vehicle, hitting it at least twice before it fled onto East Wind Drive. While the suspect was firing rounds, the driver of the suspect vehicle reportedly made a u-turn onto Stevenson Drive and hit a curb, causing front end damage.

While searching the area for the vehicle and suspects, an officer found a black 2012 Hyundai Sonata with New Jersey tags in the area of Long Point Road and North Little Creek Road. The vehicle was disabled and had heavy front end damage from hitting the curb, but was not occupied at that time. The vehicle had also previously been reported stolen.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage of city camera and saw a suspect matching the shooters description leaving a residence in the 200 block of West Reed Street just over an hour before the shooting. At around 3:10 p.m., officers watching the same cameras saw the suspect wearing the same clothing as the shooting return to the West Reed Street home. Officers were able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Jaden Jenkins, as well as a 12-year-old juvenile and 17-year-old juvenile that were with Jenkins.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for the residence and executed it at roughly 7:30 p.m. During the search warrant, officers took both juveniles, Jenkins, and 24-year-old Daniel Fears into custody. Officers also recovered the clothing worn by Jenkins in the shooting and a 9mm handgun.

Further investigation revealed that Jenkins fired at the vehicle that was occupied by four people, the 17-year-old was the driver of the vehicle, and the 12-year-old was the front seat passenger in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Jenkins was charged with five counts of first degree reckless endangerment, three counts of criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, two counts of second degree conspiracy, two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was held at SCI on a $120,500 cash bond.

Both juveniles were held at Stevenson House on secured bonds after being charged with second degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and receiving stolen property.

Fears was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and held at SCI on a $20,000 secured bond.
