Five additional arrests made in July 4th homicide in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Maryland State Police have arrested five additional people in connection to the July 4th fatal shooting of 24-year-old Tyuane Johnson.
Since Sunday, police have arrested the following people in this case:
- 21-year-old Lawar Turner of Ridgely, MD
- 24-year-old Markeem Turner of Denton, MD
- 26-year-old Candre Meekins of Cambridge, MD
- 22-year-old Naa’il Thompson of Cambridge, MD
- 26-year-old Devon Cannon of Cambridge, MD
Thompson was arrested on Sunday and charged with registered firearm/illegal possession, loaded handgun on person, and illegal possession of ammunition.
Cannon was arrested on Monday and has been charged with registered firearm/illegal possession and handgun on person.
Lawar Turner has been charged with multiple counts of attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, possession of a loaded handgun, and other related criminal charges.
Markeem Turner has been charged with multiple counts of first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a felony crime, and other related criminal charges.
Meekins is charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a felony crime, and other related charges.
To date, nine men have been arrested in connection to this incident.
