City of Salisbury crews clean up after storm hits parks, homes, and streets
SALISBURY, Md.- The City of Salisbury has been out cleaning up the area Tuesday after experiencing severe thunderstorms and strong winds Monday evening.
The weather caused widespread damage and power outages. There were several trees that went down, flooding, and damages to some parks. The City told us they were fully staffed out there Tuesday trying to pick up what they saw, but clean up could take several days.
“We had crews out from our streets, our parks, and our traffic divisions out assessing the area, assessing the damage; we’ve already started clearing up a lot of the limbs that have fallen, trees that have fallen that were blocking roadways,” Jana Potvin, Director of SBY Field of Operations, said.
We’re told residents are responsible to clear their sidewalks. The city does offer free collection of yard waste every Monday for residents; they can call 410-548-31-77 and request a pick up.
