Trio arrested following Parsonsburg drug investigation

PARSONSBURG, Md. – Three people have been arrested following a drug investigation in the Parsonsburg area.

Over the course of the last month, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says it was assisted by the Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team in conducting an investigation into 25-year-old Phillip Marvel selling controlled dangerous substances from residences in the 30000 block of Fred Adkins Road and 5000 block of Forest Grove Road.

On May 26th, detectives observed Marvel leaving his residence on Forest Grove Road with a female, identified as 22-year-old Julia Roberts, at which time he was stopped and search warrants were executed on his person and vehicle. Inside Marvel’s vehicle, police found 2 digital scales, 59 ecstasy pills, 4 capsules of Psilocybin mushrooms, 3 tabs of ACID/LSD, THC wax, THC gummies, packaging materials, $206 in cash, and 25.88 grams of marijuana. We’re told these controlled dangerous substances were packaged for street-level distribution.

After the vehicle search, law enforcement then executed search warrants on Marvel’s residence in the 5000 block of Forest Grove Road, as well as a residence in the 30000 block of Fred Adkins Road.

At Marvel’s residence, police located 63.43 grams of marijuana, 115.08 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, packaging materials, two suboxone strips, various types of THC concentrate, THC edibles, and 7 Xanax bars.

At the Fred Adkins residence, police found a loaded 9mm handgun, two extended magazines, 9mm ammunition, .357 ammunition, packaging material, marijuana seeds, and two live marijuana plants inside of a Hydroponic garden tent. 28-year-old Stephen Truitt was reportedly living at the residence.

Further investigation revealed that Marvel was prohibited from possessing firearms as a result of a 2017 robbery conviction, and Truitt was found to be prohibited from possessing firearms as a result of a 2015 burglary conviction. It was learned that Marvel was using both residences to aid his drug distribution efforts and Marvel was believed to routinely possess the firearms at both residences.

All three were arrested on various drug and firearms offenses.
