Rehoboth businesses are gearing up for 4th of July festivities

REHOBOTH, Del.- With the 4th of July weekend right around the corner, beach areas are prepping for festivities.

This includes places like Rehoboth. They will launch fireworks on July 3rd around 9:30 p.m. on the beach, between Philadelphia and Hickman streets, which is slightly further south than the normal Brooklyn Avenue location. The fun will kick off with a live performance from Funsters at the bandstand at 8 p.m.

Businesses said they’re ready to welcome tourists and residents during the busy weekend. One store telling 47ABC, so far business has been really good and more foot traffic could add to that. “We are anxious to see everybody, the store has been getting crowded already it’s summer here, it’s been fun,” Trish Campbell, Valhalla Jewelery Sales Associate, said.

“We have a lot of repeat customers, a lot of repeat tourists that come down, you really can’t ask for a better place in the summer,” Donna Merzendorf, Valhalla Jewelery Sales Associate said. “Memorial Day was kind of a wash out because of the weather and this weather right now they are calling for it to be really great.”

Businesses also tell us with the pandemic finally letting up it’s really helping all of the vendors. “I think everybody is ready to enjoy summer again and be out and about,” Campbell  said.
