Police arrest Salisbury man on assault charges

BERLIN, Md. – Maryland State Police arrested a Salisbury man in connection to a stabbing that occurred Thursday night.

Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Charles Wagner, of Salisbury, MD. Charles was charged with first- and second-degree assault.  He is currently being processed at the Berlin Barrack and later will be transported to the Worcester County Jail.

Police say they identified the victim as Brian Wagner who is believed to be Charles’s cousin.

According to police, sometime after 9 p.m. troopers responded to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for a stabbing victim. During the investigation, police say it was determined the victim was dropped off at the hospital by a friend and the incident originally occurred in Worcester County.

After gathering information, police located Charles at a hotel in Salisbury and arrested him without incident.
