“I’m hoping this will be a great historical impact:” Mural artist brings his talents to Berlin

BERLIN, Md.- An artist from DC is bringing his talents to Berlin to create a mural on the Bruder Hill building.

Jay F. Coleman started his piece Monday. The mural will depict Berlin native Reverend Doctor Charles Albert Tindley, who was a gospel music composer. Coleman was chosen to do this mural for his specialty in realistic and arbitrary color murals. He told us he feels very fortunate to be picked and add something special to the Town.

“I think it’s imperative that we commemorate people that we show historical figures of all different backgrounds,” Coleman said. ” You never know the impact you’re going to have so I’m hoping this will be a great historical impact on Berlin, something that the town can embrace.”

Coleman said he hopes to have the mural done by Saturday; that’s when the city will have an unveiling of it.
