SEAFORD, Del. – A Laurel man is behind bars after being charged with his 8th DUI Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 4 p.m., troopers responded to the intersection of northbound Sussex Highway and Concord Road for a reported hit-and-run crash. Further investigation revealed that a black Mazda Tribute had hit a black GMC Acadia that was stopped at a red light at this intersection. A computer inquiry revealed that Thomas had been convicted of seven prior DUI offenses. He was arrested and charged with felony DUI, along with numerous traffic offenses. He was held at SCI on a $10,004 secured bond.
