OCEAN CITY, Md. – Coast Guard members rescued four people when their vessel started taking on water 15 miles offshore of Ocean City on Monday.

We’re told the Coast Guard Sector Maryland – National Capital Region watchstanders received a distress alert about the fishing vessel. After making contact, the captain reported that the boat was taking on water and didn’t know if the vessel could make it back to shore before sinking. A Motor Life Boat crew was launched to assist.

When crews arrived on scene, they were able to embark two of the four passengers and stabilize the vessel with dewatering pumps. They were then able to escort the vessel to Sunset Marina, where it will undergo repairs. No medical concerns were reported.
