Delaware State Fair leaders are excited as opening day draws near

HARRINGTON, Del.- With only 28 days until opening day of the Delaware State Fair, officials are hard at work putting together the final touches.

The Fair will run in Harrington from July 21st to the 30th. Danny Aguilar, the fair’s Assistant General Manager, says said final preparations include counting ribbons for livestock and exhibits, picking up phone calls, and more. But Aguliar said, that work will pick up even more after the Fourth of July holiday.

“We are quickly kind of getting all the final contracts put together, we’ve got hundreds and hundreds of camping spaces we have to get ready, we have thousands of parking, because we have parking for folks and then just getting things ready as folks move in to Harrington, Delaware for ten days of amazing summer fun,” Aguilar said.

We’ll be broadcasting our evening news live all ten days of the fair, so stop by and see us in the exhibit hall and say hello. Plus, we’ll be playing our version of family feud at 6:30 every night, so be sure to join us for the fun.

Aguilar said this year they will have the parade back at 7 p.m. and fair-goers can get the normal concert experience. One of the many new things they created this year was a cell phone lot.
