Whitehaven Ferry repairs complete, Upper Ferry closed for mechanical failure

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County officials say the Whitehaven Ferry has been repaired following its closure earlier this week, however, it is not operating at this time due to extreme high tides.

Additionally, the Upper Ferry has suffered an extreme mechanical failure and is closed ahead of a scheduled bi-annual complete overhaul. Officials say the ferry is expected to be closed for an extended period. Updates as to a projected reopening will be announced as repairs progress.
