PUSH4Education hosting public forum for WCBOE candidates

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County ‘PUSH4Education’ is advocating for increased investment in education, so they’re hosting a forum for community members to learn more about candidates for the board of education.

Eileen Johnson, founder of ‘PUSH4Education’ says they’re holding a forum on June 3rd from 1 to 3 p.m. at the MAC center in Salisbury. The public is invited to come out and learn about the priorities and proposed solutions of the board of education candidates ahead of the July 19th primary election.

Johnson says this type of involvement gets students and parents directly involved in their education. “There’s wide agreement that we need more psychologists and social workers and personally as a parent, I want candidates that support that,” says Johnson. She adds, “You don’t want to just vote for your party you want to find out what are their priorities, what do they think about what is happening in schools are they aware of what’s happening in schools, have they spent time in school.”

Admission to the event is free and open to the public and face masks are strongly encouraged.

Although the form is free, those with ‘PUSH4Education’ are asking people to consider a donation to meals on wheels.
