Community Comes Together To Cheer On Local Star Jay Copeland

SALISBURY, Md –  Over 100 people gathered in Downtown Salisbury Wednesday evening to film a video cheering on American Idol star and Salisbury native, Jay Copeland, as his impressive journey on the show continues.

Community members came out with signs for Jay and lots of energy as they filmed a music video for him on top of the parking garage. Jay’s very own grandfather was in attendance and was touched by all the support his grandson is receiving and had a message for him as well.

“It’s indescribable, to see this day, to live to see this day where my third generation will capture the hearts of people across the country it’s amazing and I’m thankful for Jesus. Keep it up stay humble and we know you can do it because we raised you.”

If Jay makes it to the next round you can see him this Sunday, May 8th on ABC at 8 p.m.
