Carper urging suppliers to increase baby formula production

DELAWARE – Amid a nationwide baby formula shortage, Delaware Senator Tom Carper is urging manufacturers to take steps to prevent further shortages.

In a letter with other lawmakers, Carper called on suppliers to increase production and distribution of the formula. Carper’s office says Delaware has the second highest out-of-stock rate of formula in the entire nation.

In a statement, he said in part, “For many families, infant formula is critical for ensuring their children receive the nutrition they need to grow healthy and well-nourished.”

Delaware health officials offered guidance to families struggling to find formula, you can find that guidance here.
