Pair arrested for murder following Laurel shooting
LAUREL, Del. – Two suspects have been arrested following a homicide that took place early Thursday morning in Laurel.
At around 12:25 a.m., troopers responded to the 18000 block of Laurel Road for a reported shooting. On arrival, troopers found the 49-year-old male victim in the driveway, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that two suspects had gotten into an altercation with the victim at the residence, during which the suspects reportedly robbed and shot the victim. The suspects then ordered an acquaintance of the victim at gunpoint to drive them away from the scene.
Police were able to identify the two suspects involved in this incident as 18-year-old Josiah Garrison and 21-year-old Ramon Duker. During the afternoon hours on Thursday, Garrison went to Beebe Medical Center for treatment of an injury. Garrison was accompanied by Duker at the hospital, and troopers took the pair into custody.
The pair were charged with first degree murder, first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second degree kidnapping, and first degree conspiracy. Both were held at SCI on a $1,146,000 cash bond.
