Pair arrested following drug investigation in Dover
DOVER, Del. – A drug and firearm investigation concluded Tuesday evening with two arrests in Dover.
At around 6 p.m., officers were conducting surveillance in the 800 block of East Loockerman Street when they saw 19-year-old Elijah Simmons leave a residence and conduct a drug transaction with a subject, identified as 18-year-old Jailen Parker.
Officers stopped Parker’s vehicle in the area of North DuPont Highway and Rustic Lane following the transaction. During the stop, Parker was found to be in possession of 115.9 grams of marijuana and a handgun. A search warrant was then obtained for the East Loockerman Street residence, leading to the discovery of two handguns, 69 ounces of promethazine, 584.3 grams of marijuana, and ammunition. Simmons was also taken into custody during the search of the residence.
Parker was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He was later released on a $6,000 unsecured bond.
Simmons was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of an untraceable firearm, possession with the intent to deliver promethazine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Police say Simmons was also wanted by Philadelphia Police for forgery/fraudulent checks. He was held at SCI on a $68,500 cash bond.
