Non-profit provides scholarships for young women pursing a higher education
DELAWARE – In Delaware, one non-profit is looking to give the gift of a higher education with the return of its scholarship program.
Distinguished Young Women offers scholarships for those looking to go to college and provides them with tools for personal growth.
Last year, $1 billion dollars in rewards were made available across 100 colleges and universities.
The Delaware program workshop is free to participate and is currently open to junior female students.
47ABC spoke with one current scholar who says her time in the organization has opened up many possibilities. “Earning scholarship money is so important because you shouldn’t have to be in debt to receive a degree and pursue higher education,” Distinguished Woman of Delaware 2022 Mikayla Dayton said. “I would recommend this program to anyone. Its been absolutely amazing. Its just a like a second family.”
The deadline for those interested is May 1st.
