Mardela comes up just short as they fall in extra innings
MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.– St. Michael’s defeated Mardela in extra innings in a final score of 6-5 on Tuesday.
St. Michael’s struck first to take the 1-0 lead but Mardela would respond in the bottom of the second with an RBI double to make it 2-1. Mason Rudd would bring another run across the plate with an RBI single in the bottom of the 4th to increase the lead to 3-1.
St. Michael’s would start the comeback in the 6th inning by bringing 3 runs home to tie it, and would then take the lead in the next inning off of an error. Mardela would tie the game in the bottom of the 7th to send the game into extra innings. Kellen Lambert would lay down a sacrifice bunt in the 9th inning to give the Saints the 6-5 lead.
Mardela falls to 8-4 on the season.
