Local woman aims to bring awareness to narcissistic abuse, breaking silence for change

SALISBURY, Md. – One local woman is looking to bring awareness to a topic that’s often not discussed, narcissistic abuse.

Rochelle Harmon tells 47ABC that she has a past of abuse in relationships, but after seeking counseling, she was made aware of narcissistic abuse.

It involves a pattern in which an individual uses manipulation, isolation, and other behaviors to abuse a victim which often leads to domestic violence.

Now, she’s taking her voice to social media and starting up the Facebook group Silent No More. The goal is to support other men and women who’ve gone through similar abuse.

Harmon says there is healing after pain and the greatest weapon is breaking the silence. “It’s almost like PTSD, it really can mess you up. It takes a long time to heal, even for myself I’m still healing,” Founder Of Silent No More Rochelle Harmon said. “You don’t have to be silent about it. You don’t have to feel like you can’t say anything or it’s nobody you could go talk to. In some situations its very pressing that you get out of the situation.”

Harmon also tells 47 ABC, she has hopes of opening up a shelter some day for people who have experienced any form of abuse.
