Investigation into wanted person leads to six arrests in Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. – Six people have been charged following an investigation in Harrington Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 4 p.m., troopers responded to the area of Mill Street in an attempt to locate 22-year-old Khaliell Pitts of Felton, who was wanted for violation of probation. Pitts was seen walking away from the home with several other subjects, but when troopers tried to contact him in the area of Clark Street and Ward Street, he began to flee on foot. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit and was found to be in possession of approximately 1.5 grams of marijuana.

Police say Pitts was accompanied by several subjects, including 23-year-old Marc Johson, 24-year-old Jackie Mitchell, 20-year-old Jajuan Reid, 21-year-old Tyler Ellingsworth-Conde, and 24-year-old Laquan Johnson. Marc Johnson fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. A computer check revealed that he is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms. Ellingsworth-Conde also reportedly tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody a short time later. He was found in possession of approximately 123.94 grams of marijuana. The other three subjects were taken into custody without incident, and Ried was found in possession of approximately 4.5 grams of marijuana.

Pitts was charged with illegal gang participation, second degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana. He was held at SCI on a $6,001 secured bond.

Marc Johnson was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, illegal gang participation, second degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana. He was held at SCI on a $43,000 cash bond.

Ellingsworth-Conde was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, illegal gang participation, second degree conspiracy, and resisting arrest. He was later released on his own recognizance.

Mitchell was charged with illegal gang participation and second degree conspiracy. He was held at SCI on a $15,000 cash bond.

Laquan Johnson was charged with illegal gang participation and second degree conspiracy. He was also held at SCI on a $15,000 cash bond.

Reid was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana and released.
