If Congress passes a bill, more relief could come to small businesses and entertainment venues

DELMARVA- The Relief for Restaurants and Other Hard Hit Small Businesses Act recently made it through the house of representatives.

If signed into law, this would deliver more funding to restaurants and create a new program to support small businesses hit hard by the pandemic.

It would also update the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program and provide entertainment venues more time and flexibility to use federal relief funds.
The Freeman Arts Pavilion said if this bill passes they think it will be a big help to the arts community.

“It has many bottom line advantages for us and we are grateful for any opportunity we can get to keep the arts alive and well here on Delmarva,” Patti Grimes, the Executive Director of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation and the Freeman Arts Pavilion, said.

Grimes said previous funding they received helped keep staff employed and help them make changes to their venue to keep people safe.
