Fire destroys Millsboro home, officials investigating

MILLSBORO, Del. – A Millsboro house was destroyed in a fire Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the 32000 block of Hersel Davis Road at around 1:45 p.m. On arrival to the scene, officials found an unoccupied, two-story home fully involved in fire. Additional mutual aid fire companies were requested to help battle the blaze.

Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access activities for the duration of the fire. Firefighters also returned to the residence a few hours later to further extinguish smoldering areas on the second floor.

The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
