Del. Mautz runs for senate, big plans for his district and the state
MARYLAND – Delegate Johnny Mautz is vacating his seat in the House of Delegates and campaigning to take a step toward the state Senate.
Delegate Mautz is running for the Senate of District 37, Senator Addie Eckardt’s current seat. He says, after his time in the house of delegates and support from constituents to run for senate, he was ready to take another step. Delegate Mautz tells 47 ABC in the Senate he feels his voice can be heard.
“There’s a lot going on, I’ve got a lot of energy, I’ve got a lot of new ideas and I think that there are some basic philosophical differences between the Senator and myself,” says Del. Mautz.
His focuses include making sure kids aren’t being indoctrinated, protection of the second amendment, civil liberties, as well as the continuous support of law enforcement.
“I’m invested in our community, I want to build a future, I want to secure a future so I’m all in. And I will give this job everything I’ve got to give to preserve our eastern shore values and principles.” Del. Mautz adds, “There are many issues confronting society right now that needed to be addressed and I think this election is going to shake out some new ideas and some new energy.”
Del. Mautz tells us, that Senator Eckardt and he share supporters, but believes now is the time for some fresh ideas in the senate seat to deal with current issues Maryland faces.
“There are many issues confronting society right now that needed to be addressed and I think this election is going to shake out some new ideas and some new energy.” He adds, “We are a phenomenal place, we have phenomenal abilities, we need to harness those abilities and we need to put them to productive views and that’s what I’m looking forward to doing.”
