City of Cambridge wants to hear residents’ thoughts on waterfront project

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- The City of Cambridge wants to hear from the community, as they are planning to move forward with the Waterfront Project.

This initiative is being led by Cambridge Waterfront Development Incorporated and they want to develop an outdoor entertainment space where the Choptank River and Cambridge Creek meet. They want to make an active, lively site where people can access it 24/7, that includes access to green spaces, playground equipment, and the beach.

They revealed their latest site concept to the community and are looking for feedback from now through May 8 at 4 p.m.

The Executive Director of the group said it’s important to get residents’ input because they want to make sure it’s a great fit for the community members.

“They are really our number one stakeholder group, we were again conformed by governmental entities who represent the public to do the best job possible,” Matt Leonard, Executive Director of CWDI, said. ” And, this is kind of the last best chance for them to have input on the direction we’ll go with this site.”
