Caroline Co. pole building destroyed in weekend fire

FEDERALSBURG, Md. – An investigation is underway after a Caroline County pole building was destroyed in a fire early Sunday morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m., firefighters with the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company responded to 4953 Long Swamp Road. The fire, which was reported by a passerby, took roughly 45 minutes to control.

State fire marshals responded to the scene and are actively investigating the cause of the blaze. Total damage has been estimated at $25,000.
