Cape hands Appoquinimink their first loss of the season

LEWES, Del.– Cape Henlopen defeated Appoquinimink in a final score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The game would start off as a pitchers duel up until the the top of the 5th inning. Aidan Deakins would hit a sacrifice fly into center-field that would bring home the first run of the game. Cape would immediately respond in the next inning with an RBI single by Tim Hitchcock up the middle to tie the game at 1-1.

Brenn Scott for Cape would step into the box in the bottom of the 6th inning, and he would send one into right center field for the RBI single to bring home the winning run.

Cape improves to 11-2 on the season while Appoquinimink falls to 12-1.
