Women Supporting Women’s 18th Ride For Awareness making a return to support breast cancer
SALISBURY, Md. – For the 18th year, Women Supporting Women, a local non-profit, is bringing back its “Ride for Awareness” this May 14th.
WSW gives free resources to those battling or who have survived breast cancer. To raise awareness and funds, they put on an annual event where motorcycles ride through Wicomico and Worcester County. They will begin at the WSW location in Salisbury and then end their journey at the Berlin American Legion Post #123. Once, the ride is over they will hold a celebration with a DJ, food, and raffles.
We are told one of the biggest challenges of preparing for this event has been COVID-19, but they are hoping with lower cases and more people being vaccinated people will come out to support.
“Even now, not many people know what to do or what’s the best for them because we are a breast cancer support place,” Abigail Hoffman, the Public Relations and Marketing Director for WSW, said. “There a lot of people that are immune-compromised so it’s challenging to connect with people.”
The ride will begin at 10 a.m.
