Weekend homicide under investigation in Accomack Co.

ACCOMAC, Va. – Police in Accomack County are investigating a homicide that happened Sunday morning.

At around 8:05 a.m., the Accomack County Sheriff’s Officer received a report of an unresponsive person at a residence in the 26000 block of Dummondtown Road. On arrival, deputies found an unresponsive male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as 41-year-old Jamar Smith of Onancock, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
