UPDATE: Pair arrested in Magnolia homicide
MAGNOLIA, Del. – Two Kent County men have been arrested in Thursday’s homicide in Magnolia.
Shortly after midnight Thursday, troopers responded to the 200 block of Jeffrey Drive in the London Village Community after receiving a report of a 30-year-old Magnolia man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. Further investigation revealed that 19-year-old Christopher Evans was sitting inside a vehicle arguing with a female acquaintance through the car window, which escalated to a physical altercation. When the victim, identified as 30-year-old Michael Kressman, came to help the female, he was reportedly shot by 21-year-old Keyonte Brown, who was also in the vehicle.
Kressman was taken to an area hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced dead.
Brown has been charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He is being held at SCI on a $1,085,000 cash bond.
Evans has been charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was held at SCI on a $24,000 secured bond.
