Salisbury Police make arrest in stabbing incident

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police have arrested a man in connection to a stabbing that took place earlier this month.

At around 12:30 p.m. on March 2nd, officers responded to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for a report of an individual who had been stabbed. Contact was made with a 20-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent laceration to his chest as a result of being stabbed with a sharp object. We’re told the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that the victim and a male subject had gotten into a physical confrontation at Brew River. At one point during the incident, the subject reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest before fleeing the scene. Throughout the course of the investigation, 29-year-old Derrick Harmon was identified as the suspect in this incident. A warrant was obtained for his arrest, and on March 24th, he was taken into custody at the La Quinta Inn, located at 300 S. Salisbury Boulevard.

Harmon has been charged with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, concealed deadly weapon, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure.
