Parsonsburg woman dies following single-vehicle crash
MILLSBORO, Del. – A Parsonsburg woman has died following a crash in Millsboro Thursday night.
At around 9:15 p.m., troopers say a 2009 Nissan Versa being driven by a 58-year-old Parsonsburg woman was traveling north on Lowes Crossing Road, just south of Carey’s Camp Road, approaching a sharp left-hand curve in the road. For unknown reasons, the driver failed to negotiate the curve and veered off the east edge of the road before overcorrecting and losing control. The Nissan then went back onto Lowes Crossing Road and began sliding sideways across both lanes of travel. The car then left the west edge of the road, hit a mailbox, and continued sliding before hitting an unoccupied home in the 19000 block of Lowes Crossing Road, causing minor damage.
The victim was taken by EMS to an area hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries early Friday morning. Identification is pending notification of next of kin.
