Non-profits team up for first-ever ‘Save 1, Feed 1’ campaign

DELAWARE – In Delaware, two non-profits are teaming up to make a bigger impact in communities across the first state.

The Food Bank of Delaware and The Blood Bank of Delmarva are partnering up for the first-ever Save 1, Feed 1 campaign.

This month, for each individual that makes a blood donation $1 will go directly to the food bank.

Organizers tell 47ABC the need comes as the local blood supply is at its lowest and many Delawareans are still facing food insecurity.  “I can’t think of a greater partner than the Blood Bank of Delmarva. They’re banking blood and we’re banking food. So I think it’s great that two non-profit banks in the state of Delaware are coming together to help the community,”

We’re told one blood donation can save up to 3 lives and $1 can provide 3 meals to those in need.

Now you must register your donation so that the food bank will get credit.  To register or get more information, click here.
