CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A Cambridge man was arrested late Monday morning after he fled from police and was found with a gun.

Shortly after 11 a.m., officers responded to the area of Leonard’s Lane and Cosby Avenue for a report of a male subject with a gun, holding it to the head of a female. Officers arrived on scene and quickly located a subject matching the reported description. When the man saw police, he reportedly began fleeing from the officer with one hand in his pocket.

Officers made several attempts to stop the man and yelled for him to stop, but he refused and ran towards Greenwood Avenue. The man then ran across the driveway entrance to the 600 block of the Greenwood Avenue apartments, where he crossed in front of the path of a marked police vehicle, colliding with the vehicle and knocking him to the ground.

The subject, identified as 22-year-old Shyqwine Ennals, was apprehended and found in possession of a loaded handgun. He was subsequently charged with numerous handgun charges, as well as hindering and failing to obey. He was held without bond.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident and are trying to identify the female involved.
