Berlin’s Burbage Park is getting ping pong tables, ground breaking ceremony is April 2
BERLIN, Md. – Plans are moving forward to bring some new exercise and outdoor activity options to the town of Berlin.
Tony Weeg, the President of the non-profit We Heart Berlin, said they’ve been working to bring a ping pong park and skate park to the town for over two years. Weeg said recently the plans for the ping pong park have been completed and approved.
Now, they are planning a groundbreaking ceremony for the ping pong park at Burbage Park, which they hope to have fully constructed before May.
“There’s people who have lived there their whole life and didn’t even know it was a park, well now it’s going to have life and we’ve already got donations of paddles, balls coming from people and you know this has been amazingly a grassroots thing from the beginning and it’s continuing on,” Weeg said.
That groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m., April 2 at Burbage Park. Weeg said they are selling bricks that you can engrave, which will be used on the pathway at the park.
