Trio arrested on drug charges following Harrington traffic stop
HARRINGTON, Del. – A weekend traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs in Harrington.
According to police, a vehicle was stopped on S. DuPont Highway on Saturday after it was observed driving over the posted speed limit. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as 21-year-old Marcellis Dandy, as well as two passengers, identified as 21-year-old Corey Washington and a 17-year-old male.
An odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle, and the suspects were asked to step out of the vehicle, at which point Dandy reportedly became combative and disorderly, failing to comply. He was detained after a brief struggle. Inside the vehicle, officers found approximately 95 grams of marijuana in separate packages, a digital scale, and more than 3,100 in suspected drug money.
Dandy was charged with manufacture/deliver/PWID controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding. Washington and the juvenile were each charged with manufacture/deliver/PWID controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three were released on their own recognizance pending future court appearances.
