KENT CO., Del. – Three people have been arrested following multiple thefts of porch packages and lawn ornaments.

Over the past several months, Delaware State Police have been investigating numerous thefts of packages from porches and lawn ornaments/figurines from front yards in the Houston, Felton, Harrington, and Magnolia areas. Earlier this month, troopers posted on social media requesting the public’s help in identifying a possible suspect, and thanks to the community’s help, three suspects were identified.

On Friday, 45-year-old Russell Griffin, 43-year-old Lawrence Evans, and 37-year-old Dawn Shockley were taken into custody and charged with 11 counts of third degree criminal trespass, 3 counts of criminal mischief, 9 counts of theft under $1500, 5 counts of third degree conspiracy, 2 counts of second degree conspiracy, 8 counts of theft over $1500 or victim is 62 years or older, and 5 counts of second degree burglary. Additionally, Griffin was charged with one count of resisting arrest.

All three were later released on their own recognizance.

Police say numerous suspected stolen lawn ornaments and figurines were located and seized from inside and outside of the suspects’ residence. Anyone who reported a theft of a lawn ornament/figurine and is interested in having it returned can call Det. Christine Bowie at 302-698-8503.

A mugshot for Shockley is not available at this time.
