Salisbury man sentenced to 90 years for sexually abusing minors

SALISBURY, Md. – A man convicted of sexually abusing two minor victims will spend 90 years behind bars.

Franklin Rodriguez Gutierrez was convicted in December 2021 of two counts of second degree rape, two counts of second degree sexual offense, and two counts of third degree sexual offense. On February 11th, a Wicomico County judge sentenced Rodriguez to 45 years for each victim to be served consecutively, totaling 90 years. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and will be subject to lifetime sexual offender supervision by the Sexual Offender Management Team.

Officials say the offenses took place between December 2012 and October 2014. Both minor victims were under the age of 11 at the time of the offenses and bravely came forward in 2019 disclosing the abuse they endured.
