Rock & Roll Revival returns, students excited to be back on stage
SALISBURY, Md. – James M. Bennett High School is bringing back their beloved Rock and Roll Revival.
Students have been preparing for this extravagant show called “Time Machine” for months. We’re told it’s a long-time tradition where students showcase their talents in a concert that highlights music 20 years and older.
Between the work of volunteers, families, students, faculty, and light and sound techs, the return of the revival is something students have been waiting for since 2020. “Us kids were just happy to be back out on the stage, this is a great opportunity for all of us to showcase our talents and get out in front of a large crowd,” says Max Myer, Senior Band Member at James Bennett High School. He adds, “There’s nothing like that first round of applause on opening night, hearing that exhilarates us.”
Adam Puente, a stage manager for the Rock and Roll Revival tells us, the work put into the show is a labor of love. He tells 47 ABC he’s just thankful to be a part of this again and see the smiles on students’ faces. “All the new talent that comes through this school, is amazing. I think the community at large will be just floored at the utter work these kids put in every year for this,” says Puente. He adds, “And to see the kids grow, that’s the neat part about it all, so we’re just really excited to be on stage again.”
The event starts next Friday, February 11th at 7 p.m., and tickets are on sale now. Organizers encourage community members to purchase ahead of time before they’re sold out.
