One arrested, another wanted in connection to fraud investigation

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police say one person has been arrested and another is wanted in connection to a fraud investigation.

We’re told on Tuesday police were called to the WSFS Bank in the first block of Commerce Street in Harrington for a report of a female inside the bank attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Police identified the subject as 23-year-old Rebecca Lankford and placed her under arrest.

During the course of the investigation, police determined that Lankford had received the fraudulent check from 21-year-old Jaimere Harrison and she was trying to cash it and give some of the stolen money to Harrison.

Lankford was later released on her own recognizance after being charged with attempted theft $1500 or greater, second degree forgery, second degree conspiracy, and receiving stolen property.

Harrington Police have active warrants on file for Harrison for forgery and other related charges. Anyone with information on Harrison’s whereabouts is asked to contact Harrington PD at 302-398-4493 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
