New recovery residential care opportunity coming to the Eastern Shore

GREENSBORO, Md.- A new recovery center is aiming to open its doors on the Choptank River next month.

It’s called Choptank Recovery and they will be using the 3.1 model, which is a clinically managed level of residential care.

It will be 3 to 6 months long for adult men to gradually help them re-enter the community.

Leaders of the company said they plan to have around 30 beds, create recreational activities, and give men resources like resume building skills.

The center said they are excited to open up and help to close the huge gap in after care services.

“Our hope is to really create a program where people can holistically address all of the aspects of their life,” Sarah Gray, the Executive Director, said.

“You can have a safe place with a lot of support with a 24-hour staff with case managers that are trained to assist in all those different areas, so by the time you do step out onto your own you have a long period of abstinence, you have your needs are met,” Jeremy Savin, the Director of Operations, said.

Choptank Recovery will have an open house from noon to 4 p.m. on February 25th. The building is located on Main Street at the old Greensboro Hotel.
