Md. COVID-19 numbers continue to decline, Gov. Hogan says
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Maryland’s COVID-19 numbers are continuing to decline.
Governor Larry Hogan announced Monday morning that the state’s hospitalizations have dropped to 398, declining by over 88% since peaking last month. ICU levels statewide have dropped below 70 for the first time since July 31, 2021.
The statewide COVID-19 positivity rate is at its lowest level since July 25, 2021, currently sitting at 2.25%. Locally, Wicomico County is reporting a 7-day average positivity rate of 5.09%.
The state is also continuing to report the country’s second-lowest case rate, currently at 8.9 per 100,000.
State officials are continuing to encourage Marylanders to get their booster shot to be eligible for Tuesday’s $50,000 VaxCash 2.0 drawing.
