Little Creek fatal house fire remains under investigation

LITTLE CREEK, Del. – Fire officials say a third person has died following a house fire in Little Creek earlier this month.

The blaze broke out shortly after 12 p.m. on February 6th, in the 300 block of Main Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find flames shooting from the two-story home and several occupants trapped inside. Multiple rescues were performed, and five victims were taken to the hospital as a result of smoke inhalation and burns. A 9-year-old female and 42-year-old female died at the hospital.

Officials say a third victim, a 38-year-old female, died as a result of her injuries last week. Two other people have been released from the hospital.

The fire’s origin and cause remain under investigation.
