WILMINGTON, Del. – Governor John Carney announced on Monday that he will sign an order terminating the COVID-19 State of Emergency and the masking requirement in public and private schools and childcare facilities, effective at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 1st.
This announcement comes after the CDC announced updated masking guidance on Friday.
Masks will not be required by the State of Delaware in K-12 schools, on school buses, or in childcare facilities after 6 p.m. Tuesday. That information can be found here.
Governor Carney also announced that vaccine or testing requirements for educators and state employees will expire at 11:59 p.m. Monday.
The masking requirement in most state facilities will also be lifted starting Wednesday, March 2nd.
