Decatur soars past Crofton in 3A first round

BERLIN, Md. – Brycen Coleman’s dunk as the buzzer sounded was the finishing touches to Decatur’s 3A first round playoff victory over Crofton, 54-46.

Decatur held the advantage over Crofton for the entire second half, but the away team was kept alive due to poor free throw shooting in the fourth quarter.

The Seahawks shot 7-of-17 from the line in the final period, but Coleman was 5-of-6 in the fourth quarter.

Coleman finished the game as the leading scorer for Decatur with 19 points. Freshman Trybe Wise contributed 13 points.

Third-seeded Decatur now hits the road for their second round playoff game against Oxon Hill Monday at 6 PM.
