Biden Administration deploying troops to NATO allies in Eastern Europe

DELMARVA- President Joe Biden formally approved the deployment of 3,000 troops to Eastern Europe.

Those troops will be headed to Poland, Germany, and Romania. The deployment is a show of support to NATO allies that feel threatened by Russian troops that are currently lining Ukraine’s border.

One Delaware State University Political Science Professor said he thinks the US deployment is being used as a preventative measure, and also as a safeguard for Americans overseas.

“It’s more to protect the 150 military advisors that the U.S. has in Ukraine and more to have emergency evacuation plan for the 30,000 U.S. citizens including the diplomatic staff and their families that are still in Ukraine, then it is anytime attempt to intimidate,” Dr. Sam Hoff, George Washington Distinguished Professor at Delaware State University, said.

Professor Hoff also said when it comes to NATO Vladimir Putin feels the alliance is unnecessary.
