UMES President named one of the 10 most dominant HBCU leaders

PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s President is getting recognized for her hard work.

Dr. Heidi Anderson was named as one of the 10 most Dominant historically black college and university leaders of 2022 by the HBCU Campaign Fund.

The Campaign recognizes leaders who have proven their worth shaping policies and making decisions that strengthen higher education.

Dr. Anderson said getting this honor is both surprising and humbling.

“I’m very sure that this was bestowed on me because of the great work that our institution is doing and putting the word out about who UMES is out there that the students that we are graduating that the global presence that we are beginning to have and that means a lot to me,” Dr. Anderson said.

Dr. Anderson also said she couldn’t do the job she does without the help of her staff and faculty and this award reminds her of what a great job they are doing.
